Effective May 1, 2026, the fee for a Dye Test will be increased to $250.00 due to the requirement of a lateral CCTV inspection. The Municipal Claim Letter fee will remain at $40.00.
Ordinance No. 515 was enacted by the Board of Commissioners of Kennedy Township, requiring the testing of lateral sewer lines when real estate is sold or refinanced. Kennedy Township is also required to perform a CCTV inspection of the private sewer lateral. Our Road Dept. will continue to perform these tests on residential properties only. A dye test with lateral CCTV inspection is not required on vacant land or properties with septic systems.
In reference to commercial properties, Kennedy Township does not perform the dye test with lateral CCTV inspection. The owner of the property must hire a certified plumber to perform same, and must provide the Township with a Plumber’s Report showing that it was completed, and passed all inspections.
