SNOW REMOVAL RESTRICTIONS
The existence of temporary or portable impediments, such as basketball hoops, hockey goals, large decorations, and other devices, when left on public roadways or right-of-ways during winter months has caused, and will continue to cause needless difficulties for effective snow removal.
The Board of Commissioners has adopted the following amendment to Snow Removal Ordinance 489 as follows:
Duty to remove any portable or temporary impediments, including specifically sports equipment and the like, from any Township-owned roadway or Right of Way between November 1 and March 31.
It shall be unlawful for any person who has placed any form of portable or temporary impediment on any Township-owned roadway or Right of Way for use, not to remove such instrumentality from the Township-owned roadway, or to allow the same to remain in the appropriate Right of Way, which shall be considered to be at least 50 feet from the center of the roadway, into the adjoining property. This restriction shall exist between November 1 and March 31. Portable or temporary impediments shall specifically include, but not be limited to, any form of sports equipment, such as basketball stands, hockey goals, and other such matters. Should any portion of such impediment extend onto the Township-owned roadway or into the Right of Way, the entire impediment shall be considered to be on the Township-owned roadway or Right of Way and subject to this Ordinance. Any violation of this provision shall constitute a summary criminal offense.
