Polluted stormwater runoff is commonly transported through Municipal sewer systems resulting in overloaded treatment facilities and unwanted discharge into local waterbodies. This is a very serious problem that requres proactive action by municipal governments as well as their respective property owners. Rain spouts are one of the biggest culprits contributing to this problem. Homeowners and businesses are not permitted to deposit stormwater into sewer lines and encouraged to remove such connections from the sewer lines.
